Klas Telecom announced today that the Voyager networking system now fully integrates and supports common manpack and tactical radios.
GetSAT, Hughes Network Systems, LLC (Hughes), Klas Telecom and NexTech Solutions (NTS) recently partnered at an exercise that took place June 28 – 29 in Virginia Beach, VA, to demonstrate an integrated Communications-On-The-Move (COTM) SATCOM solution for HD video, voice and data connectivity.

Over the past few months, Klas Telecom launched the world’s smallest 1W 4G LTE cellular base station into the deployable cellular communications market. Targeted at government and military backpack and vehicular use, VoyagerCell 4GAP1000 provides up to 70 Mbps throughput in a package weighing just 3.25 Ib / 1.5 kg.
Core routing, switching, and server modules in Klas Telecom’s Voyager remote networking system have been qualified by Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA) for use across DoD networks.
Klas Telecom’s VoyagerESR, VoyagerVM, and Klas Voyager Module Adaptor (KVMA) received airworthiness certification from the U.S. Army Aviation Engineering Directorate on March 6, 2014. The certification verifies that these components are approved to be part of the Army Airborne Command and Control System (A2C2S) installed in UH-60L Black Hawk helicopters.
During the final few months of 2013, Klas Telecom launched it’s first satellite modem, VoyagerCBM-100. Based on ViaSat’s small form factor version of its LinkWayS2 satellite modem (ViaSat CBM-100), VoyagerCBM-100 occupies less space (10.7″ W x 13″ L x 2.4″ H) than the standard, 19″ rack-mount 1 RU chassis and is ideal for tactical environments.
