NexTech Solutions (NTS) was recently awarded a contract to support the U.S. Army’s ESB-E units using the Klas Telecom Voyager Virtualized Multi-Enclave System (VMES); a lightweight, scalable and reliable communications system that is optimized for extreme environments and purpose-built to meet the needs of expeditionary communications units today. This solution will provide the next generation of tactical communications systems with the modularity and flexibility needed to ensure the success of all ESB-E deployments.
Similar to the Army ITN and IVAS architectures within Capability Set ’21 (CS21), the ESB-E program will remain open for competition after the original order is fielded. This is aligned with the Army Capability Set construct which recompetes programs, every two years, to ensure the program office is being presented with the latest technology from innovation-oriented organizations.
For the first ESB-E fielding, we were able to deliver a complete communications package to our customers that performs as advertised, before the delivery deadline. We continue to keep close communications with NTS to ensure we satisfy customer requirements from inception to when the gear is deployed down range. This level of partnership is key to program success and we’re ready to fully support the Army program office by offering innovative ideas and meeting deadlines so there is no pressure for Army units to rush through the configuration and training stages of fielding. We’re excited to continue supporting the ESB-E program as evaluations continue.
