Klas Telecom’s TRX Connected Transportation Platform, specifically the TRX R6 wireless gateway and server module, was invited to be a part of the Secure COnnected Trustable Things (SCOTT) project – an effort involving 57 key partners from 12 countries that is seeking to provide comprehensive cost-efficient solutions of wireless, end-to-end secure, trustworthy connectivity and interoperability (Technology Readiness Level 6-7) to bridge the last mile to market implementation.
SCOTT will investigate the use of wireless sensors in multiple environments such as railway transportation. TRX R6 will be used as the preferred onboard gateway that provides a high speed backbone connecting all IP devices on trains, whether freight or passenger.
Klas Telecom engineers have been thrilled to work on the project and engage with other talented engineers from Ericsson, Nokia, Siemens and more. SCOTT kicked off earlier this summer in Austria and is an ongoing endeavor. Tangible results from all use cases will ultimately be shown to a broad public via more than 20 demonstrators all over Europe.
For more information about SCOTT, please see the project’s website.
